I take group classes for both maths and science. These can be arranged by small groups privately. Classes generally follow my scheme of work which delivers the whole key stage curriculum in just 30 weeks of one hour. But they can be tailored to the needs of the group. Email me for more information.
As an online teacher, as in my lesson above, there are no distractions to the learning. Teachers decide what resources they are going to use and are not limited by the hardware or facilities of a school. They are not restricted by a "one size fits all" curriculum. Disruptive behaviour can be dealt with easily (mute!). Compare that to a regular classroom where even the arrival of an unexpected insect can cause pandemonium!
I do not, as a rule, set a formal homework with my 1-to-1 students unless their parents request it. Neither do I give tests. Rather I guide the student, via our tutorials, to meaningful resources as is done at Oxford and Cambridge. But with the group classes, I am willing - with prior consent - to set regular meaningful homework and even low-stakes tests.
The curriculum delivered by some schools (see above) is sometimes dictated by generalities rather than the individuals. Our small groups classes are bespoke, meaning that milestone such as scholarship exams or GCSEs are properly trained for. We have the flexibility to take account of a students' individual abilities, to maximise their progress and fully develop a wonder and love of the subjects and exam success.
Plato said that anything that comes between the teacher and learner is a distraction. In many schools there are so many of these! With online classes there is no re-registering, no changing rooms, no report cards, no "why are you late" discussions, no time wasted setting up, no fire extinguisher being set off in the corridor (!) It is an ideal situation where a student is immediately immersed in an ideal setting.
